·About

Designer who likes to build what she draws.

I'm an interaction designer based in Vancouver, BC. I make experiences that are intuitive, enjoyable, and a little delightful — grounded in human-centered research and a love for the small details.

Ziqian Wu

I think of interfaces as architecture.

When I design, I start the same way a building starts — with structure. Information architecture, user flows, the load-bearing decisions that determine whether everything above them stands or collapses. The wireframe is the floor plan. The layout is the framing.

What comes last is what most people notice first: color, typography, spacing, motion — the soft furnishing of a digital space. But those choices only feel right when the structure underneath is sound. A beautiful room in a badly planned building is still a bad experience.

That's why architecture inspires me more than other design fields. It's the discipline where beauty and function are genuinely inseparable — where you can't fake one without the other failing. I try to bring that same honesty to screens.
